Never before in history have the many signs given in the Scriptures been present
as they are today.
In fact past generations
could not possibly have imagined many of the evidences visible
to us in this generation.
When the prophet Daniel was given
the visions of the future, he was confused about much of its meaning. In the last chapter of Daniel, he said "Although I
heard I did not understand.
Then I said 'My lord, what shall be the end of these things?' And he said ,"Go your way, Daniel,
for the words are closed up and sealed till the time of the end."
(Daniel 12:8-9)
But Daniel was given two very significant signs of
the end times, and only in my life time
could these two evidences be fully understood."But you, Daniel, shut up the words,
and seal
up the book until the time of the end;
many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall be increased."
(Daniel 12:4).
No generation before us has seen world travel on the scale we see today. People think nothing of hopping on an airplane and flying
across the world and back, on business,
or vacation, or to visit distant relatives. Hundreds of cruise ships with 2000 or 3000
or
more passengers each, sail the seas constantly to countries all around the world.
Knowledge and technology is
increasing at an unbelievable rate. If we buy the latest electronic gadget, it is obsolete almost before we leave the store.
Never
before would it have been possible for a world ruler to be able to control every person
in the world. But today with advanced computers,
video surveillance and satellite technology, governments and national security organizations can track
our every movement
and financial information.
Many crimes today are being solved by video cameras mounted in streets and public
areas.
News reports are telling us that some private phone conversations and email messages are already monitored in the
name of national security.
Each time we download a new app or program and click "I agree" we sign away our right to privacy for
the privilege or convenience of using it. Currently there is little or no regulation on how the company involved uses our information.
The
book of Revelation describes a ruler it calls the Beast (called Antichrist, and
"The Man of Sin", elsewhere in the Bible)
who controls the population of the world
in the last few years before Jesus returns.
"He causes all, both small and great, rich and
poor, free and slave, to receive a mark on their right hand or on their foreheads, and that no one may buy or sell except one
who has the mark or the name of the beast, or the number of his name. . . . it is the number of a man:
His number is 666."
(Revelation
13:16-18).
This kind of personal control is possible today, but it was not possible until the computer was invented, and
more and more every day this technology is improving,
so it is possible for this kind of control to be used. Many people
today do everything on their mobile phone, including paying for a coffee, tap on and off public transport, check in at airports,
and so much more.
National and personal debt is out of control. Already Greece and Spain
have had to negotiate bale out agreements with other countries to prevent bankruptcy.
The USA is printing paper money without
the economic means to support it, and a top Reagan administration economist has warned of serious consequences.
The mortgage
crisis in the USA some years ago, when thousands of people lost their homes,
is nothing compared to what will, and is happening
now as interest rates rise significantly
in USA, Canada, and other countries. Millions of people will not be able to pay
their mortgages and other debts.
In Canada the federal government froze some peoples bank accounts because they did not like the peoples
involvement in a "Freedom" protest against government overreach and restrictions during the COVID pandemic.
There is now also
serious talk in some coutries about canceling currencies and introducing a digital currency. There will be no more paper money
or cash. Governments will then know all your transactions and be able to control your spending
A Canadian politician recently wrote
"The globalists are openly admitting their plan for your forced enrolment in a Digital ID program that will monitor your activities,
coerce and compel your behaviour, and remove whatever freedoms you have left."
Credit card debt is out of control as many people, especially
young people who don't understand or care about the future consequences, run up debt
they will never be able to repay.
The corona-virus
pandemic has thrown the world into panic, food and other product shortages, panic buying, and now excessive costs of food and
other essentials. National debt into unbelievable figures, debt very few countries will ever be able to pay back.
Credit card,
internet, and telephone fraud increase daily, and having a code number implanted in each persons body "right hand or forehead" may
seem like a logical solution. The proposed Digital ID is likely the next step in that direction.
Natural disasters are daily
in the news. Earthquakes, tsunamis, floods, hurricanes, tornadoes, major volcanic eruptions destroying homes, and spewing
hugh clouds of ash into the atmosphere. In Siberia mysterious craters have been discovered. They are not volcanic but caused
by massive amounts of methane gas exploding and causing what scientists are calling "methane bombs". They are reported to be
releasing 1/2 billion tons of carbon into the atmosphere every year. Likewise in Northwest Alaska a shallow lake called "Easy Lake"
is releasing 10 tons of methane every day from a similar underwater crater. Record breaking cold and snow and extreme heat waves
in many places. Australia, after years of drought saw the worst bush fires in history in 2019, followed by devastating
floods and then the coronavirus. And there are anti-biotic resistant diseases, and much more.
Global
warming, (now conveniently renamed to climate change) has become a major driving force to the formation of a central world
government, even though many highly qualified scientist question, or even reject the claims that the unusual climate
conditions
we are seeing around the world are caused by human activity.
Now the coronavirus concerns and un-repayable debt will
give globalists opportunity to force their plans on the nations of the world.
The movement towards a Global government
is evidenced by the following quote from a leading "Green" politician in Australia, reported in a leading Australian newspaper
a few years ago.
"Let us here in Hobart, [Australia] and around the world, resolve that through global democracy we shall save
the Earth. Let Australia take the lead in peacefully establishing a global parliament. Let us create a global democracy and parliament
under the grand idea
of one planet, one person, one vote, one value."
(Reported in The Daily Telegraph, Wednesday, March 28, 2012).
The
unelected "Global Elite" of the World Economic Forum (WEF) are now openly pressuring world governments at all levels to give
in to their "Great Reset". The WEF openly states "You'll own nothing and you'll be happy."
But the Bible warns:
For
when they say, 'Peace and safety!' then suddenly destruction comes upon them, . . .
And they shall not escape.
(1 Thessalonians 5:3)
Jesus
Himself had a lot to say about the End Times, but much of what He said is difficult to put into sequence. Matthew, Mark and Luke all
record His words, But Matthew reports more from Israel's perspective. Luke, himself a gentile (non-Jew) can be understood better by those
who are not Jews.
Matthew, in chapter 24, briefly records the prediction of the destruction of the temple,
in verse
2 (Fulfilled in 70 A.D.), then the signs of Jesus second coming to the end
of the church age. Then verse
15-35 is about the Great Tribulation,
which Israel must pass through, after the church is Raptured.
There are similarities
between the details Jesus foretold of the destruction of the temple
and Jerusalem, (70 A.D. by the Roman's), and the Great Tribulation
of 7 years
under Antichrist rule (still in the future), and it can be difficult to determine
which one Jesus is referring to,
but Matthew's reference to the "abomination of desolation"
spoken of by Daniel (verse 15), makes it clear He refers to The Great
Tribulation.
Luke on the other hand does not report the Great Tribulation at all, in chapter 21. But he reports
what Jesus said to us, in the church age. But later in verses 20-24,
Luke speaks of the destruction of Jerusalem, (70 A.D.).
But he does not report about the Great Tribulation.
This is clearly evident if verses 20-24, are read carefully. After predicting
the destruction of Jerusalem, He said "And they [Israel] will fall by the edge of the sword, and be led away captive
into all
nations, And Jerusalem will be trampled by Gentiles
Until the times of the Gentiles are fulfilled." (verse 24)
See also Romans 11:25.
We
are still in the time of the Gentiles (the Christian church age).
Let me be clear, there are Jewish Christian believers today,
who have accepted Jesus (Yeshua) as Messiah and Saviour, But they are included in the church with gentile believers.
"There
is neither Jew nor Greek, [non Jew] there is neither slave nor free,
there is neither male nor female; for you are all one in Christ
Jesus."
(Galatians 3:28).
With this in mind we will look at some of the predictions Jesus made for us to watch for:
First,
He told us there will be wars and commotions happening,
but that this is not a sign of the immediate end.
But after He said that,
He added this next statement.
"Then He said to them 'Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom.
And there will be
great earthquakes in various places, and famines and pestilences;
and there will be fearful sights and great signs from heaven.' "
(Luke
21:10-11).
Then after that He said "But before all these things", and went back to describe how, in the meantime, believers
would suffer persecution through history, as we know has always
been happening since He spoke those words.
For more
information about God's plan for the nation of Israel, see the Nation of Israel page,
but we do need to look at it very briefly here.
Israel
officially became a nation again in 1948,
but as a people, they still have not accepted Jesus as their promised Messiah.
They are
still without spiritual life,
(see the "Valley of Dry Bones" prophecy in the Nation of Israel section).
There are still 7 years
to be fulfilled in Daniel's "seventy, sevens" prophecy for Israel.
We should expect trouble to continue in and around Israel, with
no lasting peace
till Jesus comes again. And this is also a sign the time is near!
God said "I will make Jerusalem a cup of drunkenness
to all the surrounding peoples,
when they lay siege against Judah and Jerusalem. And it will happen in that day
that I will make Jerusalema very heavy stone for all peoples;
all who would heave it away will surely be cut in pieces,
though all nations of the earth be gathered
against it."
(Zechariah 12:2-3).
Then in verse 10-11 of the same chapter, "I will pour on the house of David and on the inhabitantsof Jerusalem the Spirit of grace and supplication;
then they will look on Me whom they pierced,
yes they will mourn for
Him. . . In that day there will be a great mourning in Jerusalem,"
Jesus hands and feet were pierced with nails and His side pierced
with a spear as He died
for our sins, and repentant Israel's sins on the cross.
Israel's repentance as a nation is still future, but
events happening there
are signs His coming is near.
Another important sign of His coming is the departure from the
true faith by many
who call themselves Christians. "Now the Spirit expressly says that in latter times
some will depart from the faith,
giving heed to deceiving spirits and doctrines of demons,"
(1 Timothy 4:1).
A further move towards a global religion is being taken
as the Pope met in Abu Dhabi in 2019 where an interfaith complex is being built and expected to be finished in 2022. This Higher Committee
of Human Fraternity is currently comprised of, five muslim, one Jew, a rabbi; two Catholics and one United Nations official. The massive
complex will be called "Abrahamic House".
Another sign is the distortion of marriage and trend against eating meat.
"Forbidding
to marry, and commanding to abstain from meats, . . . For every creature of God is good, and nothing to be refused, if it is received
with thanksgiving." (1 Timothy 4: 3-4, KJV).
Biblical marriage is already in danger, as issues of "gender equality" cloud the true
meaning of marriage. More and more couples just live together, and some only marry to have children, but as zero population growth
is to be forced on the world, marriage will be terminated by law.
While the Bible is clear that we should not judge those people
who choose to not eat meat, (Romans 14: 2-3), animal rights activists are having increasing influence on society, and vegetarian and
vegan diets are promoted daily in the media and on line, so it should not be surprising that eating meat will be forbidden in the
not too distant future.
"But know this, that in the last days perilous times will come: For men will be lovers of themselves,
lovers of money, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, unloving, unforgiving, slanderers, without
self-control, brutal, despisers of good, traitors, headstrong, haughty,
lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, having a form
of godliness but denying its power."
(2 Timothy 3:1-5).
The apostle Peter added a few more signs "scoffers will come in the last
days, walking according to their own lusts, and saying 'Where is the promise of His coming ?' "(2 Peter 3:3-4), Peter then goes on
to say they will willingly forget that God created the heavens and the earth, (evolution) and they will deny that the pre-Flood
world perished in a Global Flood (The Flood of Noah's day).
The second coming of Jesus is badly neglected in most churches today,
and scoffed at by many
in the world. Since Charles Darwin and Charles Lyell, The theory of evolution and old earth geology
have
got an iron grip on education and in the media, and even the church has fallen into its trap.
The Great Flood of Noah's day is avoided
or even compromised in most churches,
and believed by many to be a local flood event, and not the year long world wide
catastrophic
event the Bible describes.
So the prophecy in Peter's letter to believers has come to pass in our time.
Violence,
sexual immorality, theft and drug abuse are also recorded in the book of Revelation 9:21, even while God is warning them with
judgements "And they did not repent of their murders or
their sorceries [drug abuse] or their sexual immorality or their thefts."
In
conclusion: Jesus said the gospel would be preached to all peoples of the world
"And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in
all the world as a witness to all nations,
and then the end will come."
(Matthew 24:14)
The great missionary age when missionaries carried
the gospel to foreign lands is slowing,
as many countries refuse to allow the gospel to be preached or taught.
They would like the
humanitarian aid the church can give, but without the gospel.
But radio and TV, and now the internet, has carried
the message to all parts of the globe, and
evangelist Billy Graham has preached the gospel to many millions of people all over the
world.
His personal ministry is now over.
Could this be a sign that the task is almost done?
" 'The LORD reigns; .
. . He shall judge the peoples righteously'. Let the heavens rejoice, and
let the earth be glad; Let the sea roar, and all
its fullness; Let the field be joyful and all that is in it.
Then all the trees of the woods will rejoice before the LORD.
For He
is coming, for He is coming to judge the earth. He shall judge the world with righteousness,
And all the peoples with His truth." (Psalm
96:10-13)
Jesus is Coming very soon!
